Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
1. In short
Penso collects the bare minimum needed to work: your email (for sign-in), your name and profile, and — if you allow it — your address-book contacts in encrypted form to find who's already on Penso. We don't sell data, we don't run ads, we don't profile you.
2. Data we collect
Email: used only to create your account and send you the sign-in code. Profile: name, optional photo, signature color, optional birth date. Thoughts: we record that you sent/received a thought and when — never any content, because there is no content.
3. Your address book
If you grant contacts access, phone numbers are turned into irreversible codes (hashes) on your phone, before being transmitted. They serve only to tell which of your contacts already use Penso. We never read or store numbers in clear text, and we never share them with anyone.
4. What we do NOT collect
Penso carries no text, photos, audio or video: there is no message content to collect or read. We don't track your location, we don't use advertising cookies, and we don't sell your data to third parties.
5. Notifications
If you enable them, you'll get notifications when someone thinks of you, for contacts' birthdays, and gentle reminders. You can turn them off at any time from your phone or app settings.
6. Where data lives
Data is hosted on secure infrastructure (Supabase, EU region) with row-level security: each user can access only their own data. Sign-in emails are delivered through Resend.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data at any time. From the app you can delete your account: your data (profile, thoughts, contacts) is permanently removed from our servers.
8. Minimum age
You must be at least 14 (16 in some countries) to use Penso.
9. Changes
If we update this policy, we'll let you know in the app. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
